4D dynamic occlusion
JAW MORPHODYNAMICS™: a new generation of clinical protocols.
For a long time, digital dentistry has primarily captured shape (3D scans) — but one essential element was missing: the natural movement of the jaw.
Why record functional movements?
Because a dentition (or a prosthesis) should not only “look good” on screen — it must function in everyday life. Recording movements (mastication, speech, swallowing) helps guide digital design toward an occlusion that is more consistent with real function and may help reduce adjustments and approximations during certain rehabilitations.
A valuable asset for complete dentures, with or without implants
Recording mandibular movements is particularly relevant for the fabrication of standard or implant-supported complete dentures, where functional precision and stability are critical. The 4D dynamics can be exported and replayed in design software to further personalize prosthetic design with more comprehensive patient data.
